We are living in perilous times. As the elect of God, we are set apart. God’s faithful will be delivered from the hour of testing. Why? Because we kept His Word (Revelation 3:10).
Psalm 46 reveals three things we should do in times of trouble.
- Have Faith
- Stand Firm
- Know that He is God
We have faith because He is our refuge and strength, our help (Verse 1). We hide ourselves in Him. We do not fear because we know we are secure in Him.
We stand firm because He will not fail us. Though everything else will be moved, we will not (verse 5). God’s people will be kept from falling. Reminds me of Psalm 91:11 & 12, He has given His angels charge over us, to guard us in all our ways. They will bear us up with their hands and will not allow us to dash our foot against a stone.
In verse 10, the Psalmist says, “know that I am God.” The word “know” here has many meanings in the Hebrew language. Among them is “ability.” To know God’s ability is to know that there is absolutely nothing that could come upon us that He cannot take care of.
He is all-powerful. Creator of Heaven and earth. With the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked (Isaiah 11:4).
Verse 6 makes it clear what God will do in a time of trouble. “Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts.” Father! Speak over us, speak over our families, our homes, our communities, our state, our nation. Speak a Word so that every adversity will dissolve.
God loves you with a perfect love. He will fight for you, you need only be still (Exodus 14:14). In the still, have faith, stand firm, and know that He is the LORD you God.
Lord, strong and mighty, intervene on our behalf. Nations are raging, your people are faltering, shake them awake, strengthen those who will rise with You. Keep us Father, shelter us under Your wings. And, deliver us from our adversary. In Jesus’ name Amen.
Let Christ arise in you and be seen through you.
It’s time to shine!
