You are constantly on my heart. Often, I find myself thinking of and praying for you with great desire that you come into the fullness of what God has created you for.
Events are unfolding (Storms, Fires, & Threats of Nuclear War) so quickly and I know they will not decrease but continue to increase rapidly. The earth is definitely groaning with travail and we see it clearly in natural events unfolding around the world. The fullness of time is at hand.
Yesterday I was reminded of a word the Lord gave me in prayer a year ago, “moxie.” He often does this, gives me a word that I have no idea what the meaning of that word is. I always search it out and find myself amazed at His accuracy and ability to get to me exactly what I need for every moment of my life.
It’s time for believers, Christ followers, to get their MOXIE on and settle some foundational truths, so that we will be ready for anything and everything that the times ahead will bring our way
This thing I call #HeartLIFE is of utmost importance to God. How’s your heart today? The life flowing from your heart will prove to be the most valuable part of a believer’s life in the days ahead. So, we’ve got to settle it … settle our heart right here and now.
When events unfold, if we have a pre-warning, we always get prepared in the natural; physically prepared. This is good, there are natural things we need to do to live. But, even more important is spiritual preparedness. Is your heart ready for every single event that could unfold in your life? Either way, it’s vital to determine your current spiritual preparedness right now.
This thought “get settled” comes out of Jesus’ instruction to His disciples in Luke 21:10—19. Jesus is talking about how His people will be a WITNESS to the nations. What do “nations” represent? People who have not received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
He tells them, and He is telling us today, that nation will rise against nation; natural events will happen like earthquakes, storms and floods; and there will be times when there’s no food and disease abounds. He even foretells of signs in the sky, like blood moons and solar eclipses. He goes on to tell about persecution that will come, some of us will be persecuted by both government and religion. Certainly, we are witnessing a breathtaking escalation of all of these events in recent years.
Here’s the point of why Jesus was telling His disciples then and us today, we are to be His witnesses through it all. As we do what He shows us to do and say what He tells us to say, we will give proof of Him, evidence that He is real and ever ready to be to the nations, what He is to us. By doing so, we will save our souls and countless others. Isn’t this why we are in the earth anyway?
Verse 15 says in the original English translation, we need to “settle your heart” on these matters. Settle means to put, lay, set, fix, and establish. Later translations reword that phrase to “make up your mind.”
Mind and heart are often interchangeable in the Scripture. The heart is the spirit of man and the mind is our thoughts and emotions. We have got to lay or establish a strong foundation in God’s Word, truth. Put on Christ, set or fix yourself as in a foundation and be unmovable and unshakeable no matter what. When we do, we won’t be tossed to and fro by every “wind” of doctrine or natural event.
Another reason why this is so vital to believers, so that we can hear the Spirit of the Lord teach and train us what to say and how to respond. We also need to recognize the true and the false. Hear. Recognize. Respond.
Before I go on. let me share more about MOXIE. I mentioned earlier get your moxie on. Moxie is vital to Christ followers. It’s a force of CHARACTER, DETERMINATION and NERVE. And we are all going to need every bit of what God has given us in the days ahead.
The character of Christ, determination of faith and believing (immovable and unshakeable) and the nerve or boldness of a lion. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” They don’t flee! You are like a lion, Jesus is the head, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. You are in His Tribe, a pride or coalition of lions. A FORCE to be reckoned with!
Just the sound of a lion’s roar sends shivers down the spine of every living thing within earshot. When you rise to pray, to speak, to act… demons flee, darkness gives way to light, and heaven comes to earth!
We’ve got to get this, and the process of transformation and renewing begins in the heart and mind. Believe it, do it, and watch miracles unfold.
If you are troubled or fearful, running here and there physically preparing while overlooking the spiritual preparation needed, you are lacking the single most important characteristic of a man or woman connected to God who should be living out of that settled heart.
You’ve got to dig a deep foundation in Christ; His Word, His Name, His Blood… You are an overcomer, not a runner or a hider when trouble comes. Be clothed with Him! Filled to full with the power of the Holy Spirit; praying, proclaiming and pointing everyone around you to Christ.
You are the evidence, you are the proof that He IS the great I AM. Now get out there and be a witness. Don’t run from darkness, run into it and find the power of God right in the middle of that place waiting to meet you with miracles.
So today assess… how’s your heart friend? Get everything out of your heart and mind that do not produce the character of Christ, determination of faith, and boldness of a lion. Then GUARD your heart with everything in you to protect the life of Christ and power of God that flows from that place.
#HeartLIFE it matters… Get Settled!
